Ministries

We believe God has a plan for each of our lives and that part of that plan is to be in service to others. We believe that God has given to every Christian, gifts, interests and talents that can be used to help grow the church and be in ministry beyond ourselves. If you are not sure which gifts God has given to you, we encourage you to talk with one of our church staff or leaders. We would be glad to help you discover your gifts and find your place of service in the life of the church. 

 

Our goal, at Burks United Methodist Church, is to have every member serving in one of our ministries. Our ministries are dependant upon you. This means that there is a place for you in service to our Lord and we want to help you find it. 

 

We hope it will be helpful to you in finding your place in ministry. Each ministry opportunity is described to help you understand its importance to the church and to help you choose your place of service. Please take time to explore the ministry opportunities described, assess your gifts, talents and interests, and pray for the Holy Spirit to lead you in choosing a place to serve. 

 

If what you are interested in is not represented in the catalogue, it is possible for you to begin a new ministry. Talk to our church staff and leaders about your ideas and they will guide you in the process.
